Chakras - for beginners!
You'll see me talk a lot about chakras, including my original release of my very first collection tied to these important energy centers.
But if you are new to energies, crystals, and chakras - you may be scratching your head wondering what these are and what they mean.
I am still very new to these also - I only started learning about all of these things less than a year ago! So I am by no means an expert, but I can give you some information to get you curious and continue to provide teachings and readings so we all can grow in our practice!
There are 7 main chakras - starting from the base of your spine and working up.....
1. Root
2. Sacral
3. Solar Plexus
4. Heart
5. Throat
6. Third Eye
7. Crown
Here is a great article to give more context, and is also the source of the picture below.
So what is a chakra?
It's an energy source in your body that relates to a specific system in our body. Each chakra is a separate energy source but your body is most aligned and open to being present as your most authentic self when all your chakras are open and flowing.
Each chakra needs to be flowing and spinning to be open. Sometimes people have one or more chakras blocked, which prevents them from flowing and then harnessing the energy they have to manifesting their biggest dreams and desires.
Think of it like a toy with multiple batteries. Sure, some of the batteries may get the toy to work but it will work at full operating speed you need all the batteries flowing and free of obstruction.
Now in to each chakra and where they are and what they mean!
Root is at the base of your spine, deep down below your butt. This is tied to balance, trust (including self-trust), security, and having your basic needs met. This chakra is represented by red.
Your sacral chakra is located right about at your belly button, and is responsible for unlocking your creativity, feelings of self-worth. This chakra is represented by orange.
Solar Plexus is located under your rib cage, right at the base of where your ribs connect and it is tied to your personal power and self-confidence. This chakra is represented by yellow.
The heart chakra is located right at your heart and is tied to love (including self-love!) and the ability to love and have empathy for others. It is represented by the color green.
Blue represents your throat chakra, and is located in your throat. This is the chakra for communication. An unlocked throat chakra means you can speak your mind, clearly communicate with others, and set boundaries with others.
Indigo is the color for your third eye and this is tied to your intuition and your ability to see bigger picture in life. This allows for compassion and understanding as well as non-judgement for others. It is located right in between your eyes on your head.
Lastly, we have the crown. The hardest one to unlock and represented by violet or even white, this is tied to enlightenment and your connection to life's purpose and spirituality. An open crown brings bliss and a clear tie to Source.
While this barely touches on the chakras, and what it all means, this gives you a good start. Keep an eye out for more blogs getting into each chakra, how to unblock, what crystals and scents work best for that chakra, and more!
